Mindy McCready Free at Last

It may be a new year, but time will tell if it's also a new Mindy McCready.

The trouble-prone country warbler was granted early release from Tennessee's Williamson County Jail Sunday after more than five months in lockup on a probation violation charge.

"I'm so happy to be out," the 32-year-old singer said. "I'm the happiest girl in the world right now."

McCready was greeted by her manager and family upon exiting the jailhouse—and kissing its gates—just after 9 a.m. Sunday. The "Guys Do It Every Time" songbird had been behind bars since July, when she was arrested in Florida on charges of battery and resisting arrest, stemming from a domestic dispute with her mother.

McCready was formally sentenced to a year of incarceration in September as a result of the Florida bust, which violated the terms of a 2004 drug arrest. In that case, she was sentenced to three years' probation for obtaining the painkiller OxyContin with a fake prescription.

At the time of her sentencing, the singer received credit for 75 days already served. Her term was further shortened for good behavior—something she plans on continuing outside the confines of jail.

McCready, whose woes include a suicide attempt, drug overdose and hospitalization after a beating from her ex-boyfriend, said she plans to turn her life around by focusing only on those things that truly matter to her.

"Oh, my God, I'm gonna work," she said. "Work, work, work. And sing. And go see my son, who I've missed more than anything you can possibly imagine."

McCready's son, 21-month-old Zander McCready, has been staying with the singer's mother at her Fort Myers residence since the country star's bust.

And while the sprung singer has completed her jail time, she has not yet made good on her debt to society. McCready will remain on probation for two more years.

The Baltimore Ravens on Monday fired coach Brian Billick, according to a report on the Baltimore Sun web site.

The move comes less than a month after Billick was assured he would return. The Ravens have scheduled a 3:30 p.m. ET press conference.

Billick was reportedly informed of owner Steve Bisciotti's decision a day after the Ravens wrapped up a dismal 5-11 season.

According to the report, the Ravens held their team meeting at 1:30 p.m. on Monday and Billick was not at team headquarters.

Billick, 53, is the winningest NFL coach in Baltimore history and guided the Ravens to their first Super Bowl title in January 2001.

Billick compiled an 85-67 record in nine seasons, but the Ravens, who won the AFC North championship in 2006, struggled to a 5-11 mark this season, including a nine-game losing streak.

Jim Leyritz pal was 'bikini teacher'

DAILY NEWS

Sunday, December 30th 2007, 4:00 AM

Before Erica Chevillar surfaced as Jim Leyritz's birthday buddy, she was the "Bikini Teacher" of Boca Raton, Fla.

The stunning blond made national news last year when she was forced out of her 10th-grade teaching job over sexy swimsuit shots that surfaced on the Internet.

Chevillar, 26, was a first-year social studies teacher making $33,000 a year when a parent complained about photos of her posing for the U.S.A. National Bikini Team.

She got a scolding from the principal at West Boca High School and resigned rather than fight disciplinary action.

Once word of the story - and the photos - spread, she parlayed the attention into a string of lucrative modeling gigs.

In March, she shed the bikini and everything else for a steamy spread in Playboy.

She insisted she held no hard feelings over her short-lived career in the classroom - and predicted her former students would check out the Playboy photos even if they weren't old enough to buy the magazine.

"I'm sure they'll find a way," she said.

jessica simpson collection

Jessica Simpson unveiled her new signature clothing line the, “Jessica Simpson Collection”, at Macy’s. I adore Jessica’s fashion sense and think she has wonderful taste, especially in shoes. I am a huge fan of her shoes. Although they are a bit pricey, ranging from about $60-$200, they are definitely worth it. I have quite a few pairs of pumps and they are comfortable, true to size and surprisingly easy to walk in. The ones with straps are very comfortable and make them more a lot more stable.

Jessica is always coming up with new items for her signature line and her other lines “Sweet Kisses” and “Princy”. You can purchase Jessica’s clothing lines at Macy’s, JCPenney’s, and Sears. The clothes are available in missy, junior and large sizes. There are various levels of pricing ensure that the collections offer something for every one of Jessica’s fans. The collections also include sportswear, denim, watches, and lingerie.
